LOOK: DOH COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #221
As of 4PM today, October 21, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 362,243, after 1,509 newly-confirmed cases were added to the list of COVID-19 patients.
DOH likewise announces 911 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 311,506.
Note: Of the 1,509 reported cases today, 1,356 (90%) occurred within the recent 14 days (October 8 - October 21, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (320 or 24%), Region 4A (297 or 22%) and Region 6 (129 or 10%).
Of the 60 deaths, 45 occurred in October (75%), 7 in September (12%) and 8 in August (13%). Deaths were from NCR (23 or 38%), Region 4A (9 or 15%), Region 6 (8 or 13%), Region 1 (3 or 5%), Region 3 (3 or 5%),
Region 5 (3 or 5%), Region 7 (3 or 5%), Region 9 (2 or 3%), BARMM (2 or 3%), Region 8 (1 or 2%), Region 10 (1 or 2%), Region 12 (1 or 2%), and CAR (1 or 2%).
41 duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 31 recovered cases and 3 deaths have been removed.
Moreover, 16 cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths.
13 labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System (CDRS) on October 20, 2020.
These numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.
