As of 4PM today, October 6, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 326,833, after 2,093 newly-confirmed cases were added to the list of COVID-19 patients.
DOH likewise announces 209 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 273,313.
Note: Of the 2,093 reported cases today, 1,741 (83%) occurred within the recent 14 days (September 23 - October 6, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were Region 4A (472 or 27%), NCR (431 or 25%) and Region 6 (238 or 14%).
Of the 25 deaths, 9 occurred in October (36%), 15 in September (60%) and 1 in August (4%). Deaths were from NCR (9 or 36%), Region 4A (6 or 24%), CARAGA (3 or 12%), Region 3 (1 or 4%), Region 5 (1 or 4%), Region 7 (1 or 4%), Region 9 (1 or 4%), Region 10 (1 or 4%), and BARMM (1 or 4%).
22 duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 11 were recovered cases.
Moreover, 8 cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
20 labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System (CDRS) on October 5, 2020.
These numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.
