NEWS UPDATE
76 NEW COVID-19 CASES, 2 DEATHS AND 72 RECOVERIES RECORDED TODAY
As of 7PM today, October 21, 2020, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the regeion’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 6,057, total recoveries at 5,164 (85.26%), total COVID-19 deaths at 58 (0.96%) and one (1) non-COVID related death. This brings the total active cases to 834 (13.77%).
A total of 76 new cases were recorded out of 1,014 laboratory samples tested in two (2) COVID-19 laboratories in the region, the EVRCTC and DWHVL.
The EVRCTC has released a total of 731 laboratory results. Of these, 672 are negative and 59 are positive for COVID-19.
Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 283 laboratory results. Of these, 215 are negative and 68 are positive for COVID-19 (with 17 new cases and 51 reswabs).
The 76 new cases are from the following provinces/cities/municipalities:

On the other hand, the two (2) COVID-19 deaths added today are as follows:
EV-5438, 54/M, from Jiabong, Samar, died on October 19, 2020
EV-5158, 47/M, from Gandara, Samar, died on October 19, 2020
