LOOK: DOH COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #209
As of 4PM today, October 9, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 334,770, after 2,996 newly-confirmed cases were added to the list of COVID-19 patients.
DOH likewise announces 1,045 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 275,307.
Note: Of the 2,996 reported cases today, 2,554 (85%) occurred within the recent 14 days (September 26 - October 9, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (980 or 38%), Region 4A (621 or 24%) and Region 6 (279 or 11%).
Of the 83 deaths, 33 occurred in October (40%), 39 in September (47%) 5 in August (6%) 3 in July (4%) 2 in June (2%) and 1 in May (1%). Deaths were from NCR (38 or 46%), Region 4A (9 or 11%), Region 7 (8 or 10%), Region 1 (6 or 7%), Region 3 (6 or 7%), Region 12 (4 or 5%), Region 9 (3 or 4%), Region 6 (2 or 2%), Region 8 (2 or 2%), Region 11 (2 or 2%), Region 5 (1 or 1%), and BARMM (1 or 1%).
95 duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 21 were recovered cases.
Moreover, 35 cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
12 labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System (CDRS) on October 8, 2020.
These numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.
