116 NEW COVID-19 CASES AND 44 RECOVERIES RECORDED ON FRIDAY

 

As of 7PM on Friday, October 23, 2020, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the regeion’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 6,265, total recoveries at 5,260 (83.96%), total COVID-19 deaths 58 (0.93%) at and one (1) non-COVID related death. This brings the total active cases to 946 (15.10%).

A total of 116 new cases were recorded out of 1,154 laboratory samples tested in two (2) COVID-19 laboratories in the region, the EVRCTC and DWHVL.

The EVRCTC has released a total of 875 laboratory results. Of these, 789 are negative and 86 are positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 279 laboratory results. Of these, 228 are negative and 51 are positive for COVID-19 (with 30 new cases and 21 reswabs).

The 116 new cases are  from the following provinces/cities/municipalities:

On the other hand, two (2) cases previously tagged as new cases from Jaro and Palo, Leyte were reclassified as reswabs upon verification. Hence, the adjustment of our total case count.
