75 NEW COVID-19 CASES AND 59 RECOVERIES RECORDED ON FRIDAY - DOH-EV

75 NEW COVID-19 CASES AND  59 RECOVERIES RECORDED TODAY

 

As of 7PM today, October 16, 2020, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 5,718, total recoveries at 4,868 (85.13%), and total deaths at 54 (0.94%). This brings the total active cases to 796 (13.92%).

A total of 75 new cases were recorded out of 862 laboratory samples tested in two (2) COVID-19 laboratories in the region, the EVRCTC and DWHVL.

The EVRCTC has released a total of 627 laboratory results. Of these, 567 are negative and 60 are positive for COVID-19 (with 59 new cases and 1 reswab).

Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 235 laboratory results. Of these, 189 are negative and 46 are positive for COVID-19 (with 16 new cases and 30 reswabs).

The 75 new cases are  from the following provinces/cities/municipalities:

The DOH- EV would like to make the following updates to the previously posted Just In upon verification by our RESU Team:

1.) One (1) case previously tagged as new case from Barugo, Leyte was reclassified as reswab. Hence, the adjustment of our total case count.

2.) Calbiga, Samar had no new case last night. The case previously tagged was transferred to Catarman, Northern Samar since the patient was only swabbed in Calbiga but resides in Catarman.
