LOOK: DOH COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #202
As of 4PM today, October 2, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 316,678, after 2,611 newly-confirmed cases were added to the list of COVID-19 patients.
DOH likewise announces 416 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 254,617.
Note: Of the 2,611 reported cases today, 2,150 (82%) occurred within the recent 14 days (September 19 - October 2, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (870 or 40%), Region 4A (400 or 19%) and Region 6 (255 or 12%).
Of the 56 deaths, 43 occurred in September (77%), 6 in August (11%) 5 in July (9%) 1 in May (2%) and 1 in April (2%). Deaths were from NCR (22 or 39%), Region 7 (7 or 12%), Region 4A (7 or 12%), Region 3 (6 or 11%), Region 5 (4 or 7%), Region 2 (2 or 4%), Region 6 (2 or 4%), Region 10 (2 or 4%), Region 9 (1 or 2%), Region 11 (1 or 2%), Region 12 (1 or 2%), and CARAGA (1 or 2%).
11 duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 9 recovered cases and a death have been removed.
Moreover, 13 cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified to deaths after final validation.
In addition, there's a death found to be negative and was removed from the total case count after final validation.
7 labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System (CDRS) on October 1, 2020.
These numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.
