84 NEW COVID-19 CASES, 54 RECOVERIES AND 1 DEATH RECORDED ON THURSDAY - DOH-EV

84 NEW COVID-19 CASES, 54 RECOVERIES AND 1 DEATH RECORDED ON THURSDAY

 

As of 8PM on Thursday, October 8, 2020, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 5,195, total recoveries at 4,458 (85.81%), and total deaths at 51 (0.98%). This brings the total active cases to 686 (13.21%).

A total of 84 new cases were recorded out of 890 laboratory samples tested in two (2) COVID-19 laboratories in the region, the EVRCTC and DWHVL.

The EVRCTC has released a total of 637 laboratory results. Of these, 573 are negative, 1 invalid and 63 are positive for COVID-19 (62 new cases and 1 reswab).

Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 253 laboratory results. Of these, 230 are negative and 23 are positive for COVID-19 (22 new cases and 1 reswab).

The 84 new cases are from the following provinces/cities/municipalities:

On the other hand, EV-730, 65/F from Tarangnan, Samar who died last August 12, 2020 is considered as COVID-19 related death upon thorough validation and per recommendation of CO- EB. Hence, tagged as the 51st COVID-19 mortality.
