65 NEW COVID-19 CASES AND 75 RECOVERIES RECORDED TODAY

As of 8PM today, October 9, 2020, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 5,258, total recoveries at 4,533 (86.21%), and total deaths at 51 (0.97%). This brings the total active cases to 674 (12.82%).

A total of 1,051 new cases were recorded out of  laboratory samples tested in two (2) COVID-19 laboratories in the region, the EVRCTC and DWHVL.

The EVRCTC has released a total of 726 laboratory results. Of these, 672 are negative and 54 are positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 325 laboratory results. Of these, 310 are negative and 15 are positive for COVID-19 (11 new cases and 4 reswabs).

The 65 new cases are  from the following provinces/cities/municipalities:
