72 NEW COVID-19 CASES, ONE (1) DEATH AND  125 RECOVERIES RECORDED ON SATURDAY

 

As of 7PM ON SATURDAY, October 31, 2020, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 6,751, total recoveries at 5,841 (86.52%), and total deaths at 62 (0.92%). This brings the total active cases to 848 (12.56%).

A total of 72 new cases were recorded out of 1,026 laboratory samples tested in two (2) COVID-19 laboratories in the region, the EVRCTC and DWHVL.

The EVRCTC has released a total of 655 laboratory results. Of these, 596 are negative and 59 are positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 371 laboratory results. Of these, 334 are negative and 37 are positive for COVID-19 (with 13 new cases and 24 reswabs).

The 72 new confirmed cases are  from the following provinces/cities/municipalities:

   Albuera - 2 (1 Close Contact,  1 LSI) 

   Calubian - 1 (LSI) 

   Carigara - 5

   Hindang - 1

   Palo - 3

   San Miguel - 1 (LSI) 

   Tanauan - 1 (Close Contact)

SAMAR (3)

   Calbayog City - 1

   Pagsanghan - 2 (Close Contacts) 

Eastern Samar (3)

   Borongan City - 3 (Close Contacts) 

NORTHERN SAMAR (30)

   Allen - 1

   Catarman - 27 (Close Contacts) 

   Lope De Vega - 2 (Close Contacts)

On the other hand, the new COVID-19 death recorded today is a 57/F from Las Navas, Northern Samar who died on October 29, 2020.

Other details will be provided by the concerned LGU.

One (1) case previously tagged as new case from Matalom, Leyte was reclassified as reswab upon verification. Hence, the adjustment of our total case count.
