31 NEW COVID-19 CASES, 53 RECOVERIES AND 1 DEATH RECORDED ON FRIDAY

 

As of 8PM on Friday, October 2, 2020, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 4,826, total recoveries at 4,138 (85.74%), and total deaths at 46 (0.95%). This brings the total active cases to 642 (13.30%).

A total of 31 new cases were recorded out of 902 laboratory samples tested in two (2) COVID-19 laboratories in the region, the EVRCTC and DWHVL.

The EVRCTC has released a total of  631 laboratory results. Of these, 607 are negative and 24 are positive for COVID-19 (with 23 new cases and 1 reswab).

Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 271 laboratory results. Of these, 262 are negative and 9 are positive for COVID-19 (with 8 new cases and 1 reswab).

The  31 new cases are  from the following provinces/cities/municipalities:

Hilongos - 1 (Close Contact)

Isabel - 1 

Jaro - 3 (1 LSI,  2 Close Contacts)

Kananga - 1 (LSI)

Tanauan - 1 (Close Contact)

Tolosa - 1 (Close Contact)

SAMAR (16)

Calbiga - 1 (Close Contact)

Calbayog City - 3 (2 Frontliners,  1 Close Contact)

Catbalogan City - 8

San Sebastian - 3 (1 Healthcare Worker, 2 Close Contacts)

Sta. Rita - 1 (Frontliner)

SOUTH LEYTE (2)

Liloan - 1

Padre Burgos - 1 (LSI)

On the other hand, the new COVID-19 death recorded is patient EV-4746, 78/F from Palo, Leyte who died last night.

Other details will be provided by the concerned LGU.
