TACLOBAN CITY, PHILIPPINES
31 NEW COVID-19 CASES, 3 DEATHS AND 58 RECOVERIES RECORDED ON MONDAY
As of 7PM on Monday, October 5, 2020, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 4,959, total recoveries at 4,258 (85.86%), and total deaths at 49 (0.99%). This brings the total active cases to 652 (13.15%).
A total of 31 new cases were recorded out of 621 laboratory samples tested in two (2) COVID-19 laboratories in the region, the EVRCTC and DWHVL.
The EVRCTC has released a total of 497 laboratory results. Of these, 467 are negative and 30 are positive for COVID-19 (with 26 new cases and 4 reswabs).
Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 124 laboratory results. Of these, 119 are negative and 5 are positive for COVID-19.
The 31 new cases are from the following provinces/cities/municipalities:

LEYTE (10)
Abuyog - 1
Kananga - 3 (Close Contacts)
Palo - 2
San Miguel - 1 (Local Case)
Tanauan - 3 (Local Cases)
SAMAR (14)
Calbiga - 8 (Close Contacts)
Calbayog City - 1
Catbalogan City - 1
Paranas - 1 (Close Contact)
Pinabacdao - 1 (Frontliner)
SOUTH LEYTE (6)
Maasin - 6 (5 Local Cases)
On the other hand, the three (3) new COVID-19 deaths recorded today are as follows:
EV-4883, 82/F, Tacloban City
EV-4702, 79/M, Calbayog City
EV-4195, 75/F, Tanauan, Leyte
Other details will be provided by the concerned LGU.
In addition, two (2) reported cases from Babatngon and Barugo have been untagged since upon verification they are only reswabs and not new cases. Hence, the adjustment of our total confirmed cases.
