73 NEW COVID-19 CASES AND 72 RECOVERIES RECORDED ON SATURDAY

As of 7PM on Saturday, October 17, 2020, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 5,791, total recoveries at 4,940 (85.30%), and total deaths at 54 (0.93%). This brings the total active cases to 797 (13.76%).

A total of 73 new cases were recorded out of 1,138 laboratory samples tested in two (2) COVID-19 laboratories in the region, the EVRCTC and DWHVL.

The EVRCTC has released a total of 781 laboratory results. Of these, 714 are negative and 67 are positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 357 laboratory results. Of these, 319 are negative and 38 are positive for COVID-19 (with 6 new cases and 32 reswabs).

The 73 new cases are from the following provinces/cities/municipalities:
