LOOK: DOH COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #218
As of 4PM on Sunday, October 18, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 356,618, after 2,379 newly-confirmed cases were added to the list of COVID-19 patients.
DOH likewise announces 14,941 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 310,158.
Note: Of the 2,379 reported cases today, 1,580 (66%) occurred within the recent 14 days (October 5 - October 18, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (444 or 28%), Region 4A (317 or 20%) and Region 3 (181 or 11%).
Of the 50 deaths, 18 occurred in October (36%), 14 in September (28%) 8 in August (16%) 6 in July (12%) and 4 in June (8%). Deaths were from NCR (31 or 62%), Region 3 (7 or 14%), Region 4A (5 or 10%), Region 6 (2 or 4%), Region 4B (2 or 4%), Region 1 (1 or 2%), Region 11 (1 or 2%), and BARMM (1 or 2%).
99 duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 84 recovered cases and a death have been removed.
Moreover, 11 cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths.
14 labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System (CDRS) on October 17, 2020.
These numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.
