As of 4PM today, October 12, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 342,816, after 3,564 newly-confirmed cases were added to the list of COVID-19 patients.




DOH likewise announces 150 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 293,152.


Note: Of the 3,564 reported cases today, 3,197 (90%) occurred within the recent 14 days (September 29 - October 12, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (1,163 or 36%), Region 4A (786 or 25%) and Region 6 (347 or 11%).


Of the 11 deaths, 8 occurred in October (73%), 2 in August (18%) and 1 in July (9%). Deaths were from Region 11 (4 or 36%), Region 4A (3 or 27%), Region 1 (2 or 18%), Region 10 (1 or 9%), and CARAGA (1 or 9%).


89 duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 71 were recovered cases.


Moreover, 2 cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths.


13 labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System (CDRS) on October 11, 2020.


These numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.
