LOOK: DOH COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #223
As of 4PM on Friday, October 23, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 365,799, after 1,923 newly-confirmed cases were added to the list of COVID-19 patients.
DOH likewise announces 424 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 312,691.
Note: Of the 1,923 reported cases today, 1,745 (91%) occurred within the recent 14 days (October 10 - October 23, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (428 or 25%), Region 4A (302 or 17%) and Region 6 (209 or 12%).
Of the 132 deaths, 76 occurred in October (58%), 30 in September (23%) 9 in August (7%) 14 in July (11%) 1 in June (1%) and 2 in April (2%). Deaths were from NCR (47 or 36%), Region 3 (33 or 25%), Region 4A (23 or 17%), Region 6 (10 or 8%), Region 7 (8 or 6%), Region 5 (3 or 2%), CARAGA (2 or 2%), Region 1 (1 or 1%), Region 11 (1 or 1%), Region 12 (1 or 1%), BARMM (1 or 1%), CAR (1 or 1%), and ROF (1 or 1%).
12 duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 8 were recovered cases.
Moreover, 58 cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths.
13 labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System (CDRS) on October 22, 2020.
These numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.
