DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH EASTERN VISAYAS COVID 19 UPDATE 11/26/20

NEWS UPDATE
JUST IN:

68 NEW COVID-19 CASES, TWO (2) DEATHS AND 79 RECOVERIES RECORDED TODAY
 
As of 7PM today, November 26, 2020, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 8,518, total recoveries at 7,824 (91.85%), and total deaths at 88 (1.03%). This brings the total active cases to 606 (7.11%).

A total of 68 new cases were recorded out of 601 laboratory samples tested in two (2) COVID-19 laboratories in the region, the EVRCTC and DWHVL.

The EVRCTC has released a total of 344 laboratory results. Of these, 295 are negative and 49 are positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 257 laboratory results. Of these, 237 are negative and 20 are positive for COVID-19 (with 19 new cases and 1 reswab).

The 68 new cases are  from the following provinces/cities/municipalities:

   Baybay City - 15 (Close Contacts)
   Jaro - 1
   Julita - 1
   Leyte -1
   Kananga - 1 (LSI)
   Macarthur - 1
   Palo - 4
   Tanauan - 2

SAMAR (34)
   Calbiga - 13 (Close Contacts)
   Catbalogan - 4 (2 Frontliners, 2 Close Contacts)
   Gandara - 10
   San Jorge - 7

EASTERN SAMAR (3)
   Borongan - 2 (Close Contacts)
   San Julian -1

NORTHERN SAMAR (1)
   Catarman - 1

On the other hand, the two (2) COVID-19 deaths recorded today are as follows:

EV-8191, 70/M, from Tanauan, Leyte who died on November 25, 2020

EV-8440, 72/F, from Calbiga, Samar who died on November 23, 2020.

Other details will be provided by the concerned LGU.
