79 NEW COVID-19 CASES, ONE (1) DEATH AND 76 RECOVERIES RECORDED ON SATURDAY

 

As of 7PM on Saturday, November 7, 2020, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 7,297, total recoveries at 6,619 (90.71%), and total deaths at 69 (0.95%). This brings the total active cases to 609 (8.35%).

A total of  79 new cases were recorded out of  1,157 laboratory samples tested in two (2) COVID-19 laboratories in the region, the EVRCTC and DWHVL.

The EVRCTC has released a total of  758 laboratory results. Of these, 685 are negative, 2 are invalid and 71 are positive for COVID-19 (with 69 new cases and  2 reswabs).

Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 399 laboratory results. Of these, 377 are negative and 22 are positive for COVID-19 (with 10 new cases and 12 reswabs).

The  79 new confirmed cases are  from the following provinces/cities/municipalities: 

TACLOBAN CITY (10) - 4 Close Contacts,  3 HCWs,  1 LSI,  2 No details

ORMOC CITY (6) - 4 Close Contacts,  2 LSIs

On the other hand, the new COVID-19 death recorded today is EV-6848, a 22-year-old, male, from Bato, Leyte who died on October 31, 2020.

Other details will be provided by the concerned LGU.
