DOH - EASTERN VISAYAS COVID 19 UPDATE 11/16/20

FLASHBACK AT YESTERDAY

39 NEW COVID-19 CASES, 2 DEATHS AND 70 RECOVERIES RECORDED ON MONDAY
 
As of 7PM on Monday, November 16, 2020, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 7,918, total recoveries at 7,227 (91.27%), and total deaths at 77 (0.97%). This brings the total active cases to 614 (7.75%).

A total of 39 new cases were recorded out of 487 laboratory samples tested in two (2) COVID-19 laboratories in the region, the EVRCTC and DWHVL.

The EVRCTC has released a total of  369 laboratory results. Of these, 335 are negative and  34 are positive for COVID-19 (33 new cases and 1 reswab).

Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 118 laboratory results. Of these, 110 are negative and  8 are positive for COVID-19 (with 6 new cases and 2 reswabs).

The 39 new cases are  from the following provinces/cities/municipalities: 

LEYTE (7)
   Abuyog - 1 (LSI)
   Bato - 2 (Close Contact)
   Palo - 1
   Tabango - 2 (LSIs)
   Tanauan - 1 (HCW)

SAMAR  (10)
   Calbayog - 5 (4 Close Contacts, 1 admitted in hospital)
   Calbiga - 3
   Catbalogan - 1
   San Sebastian -  1

EASTERN SAMAR (22)
   Balangkayan - 4 (Close Contacts)
   Borongan - 3 (2 Close Contacts, 1 LSI)
   Guiuan - 1
   Giporlos - 3 (Close Contacts)
   Llorente - 4 (Close Contacts)
   Maslog - 2 (Close Contacts)
   Mercedes - 1 (Close Contact)
   Quiunapondan - 4 (Close Contacts)

On the other hand, the two (2) new COVID-19 deaths recorded today are as follows:

EV-7781, 59/F, from Marabut, Samar who died on November 14, 2020

EV-6659, 26/M, from Calbayog City who died on November 15, 2020.

Other details will be provided by the concerned LGU.
