As of 4PM today, September 29, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 309,303, after 2,025 newly-confirmed cases were added to the list of COVID-19 patients.
DOH likewise announces 290 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 252,930.
Note: Of the 2,025 reported cases today, 1,641 (81%) occurred within the recent 14 days (September 16 - September 29, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (540 or 33%), Region 4A (296 or 18%) and Region 3 (239 or 15%).
Of the 68 deaths, 49 occurred in September (72%), 12 in August (18%) 4 in July (6%) 2 in May (3%) and 1 in April (1%). Deaths were from NCR (26 or 38%), Region 6 (13 or 19%), Region 4A (7 or 10%), Region 3 (6 or 9%), Region 5 (3 or 4%), Region 9 (3 or 4%), Region 7 (2 or 3%), Region 10 (2 or 3%), Region 12 (2 or 3%), Region 4B (2 or 3%), Region 11 (1 or 1%), and BARMM (1 or 1%).
10 duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 4 recovered cases and a death have been removed.
Moreover, 21 cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified to deaths after final validation.
4 labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System (CDRS) on September 28, 2020. These labs are:
1. Dr. Rafael S. Tumbokon Memorial Hospital
2. Kaiser Medical Center Inc.
3. Safeguard DNA Diagnostics
4. The Doctors Hospital, Inc.
These numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.
