LOOK: DOH COVID-19 CASE BULLETIN #193
As of 4PM today, September 23, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 294,591, after 2,833 cases newly-confirmed cases were added to the list of COVID-19 patients.
DOH likewise announces 765 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 231,373.
Note: Of the 2,833 reported cases today, 2,280 (80%) occurred within the recent 14 days (September 10 - September 23, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (968 or 42%), Region 4A (456 or 20%) and Region 6 (314 or 14%).
Of the 44 deaths, 21 occurred in September (48%), 14 in August (32%) 6 in July (14%) 2 in June (5%) and 1 in May (2%). Deaths were from NCR (23 or 52%), Region 4A (6 or 14%), Region 6 (5 or 11%), Region 3 (2 or 5%), Region 9 (2 or 5%), Region 1 (1 or 2%), Region 7 (1 or 2%), Region 10 (1 or 2%), Region 11 (1 or 2%), BARMM (1 or 2%), and CARAGA (1 or 2%).
31 duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 14 recovered cases and 1 death have been removed.
Moreover, 21 cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified to deaths (16) and active (5) cases after final validation. There is also one (1) case that was previously reported as death but has been validated as recovered.
5 labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System (CDRS) on September 22, 2020. These labs are:
1. Las Piñas General Hospital and Satellite Trauma Center GX
2. Las Piñas General Hospital and Satellite Trauma Center RT-PCR
3. Parkway Medical and Diagnostic Center
4. Taguig City Molecular Laboratory
5. Valenzuela Hope Molecular Laboratory
These numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.
