ORMOC METROPOLITAN AREA
Metro Ormoc is one of many metropolitan areas in the Philippines and the second one in Eastern Visayas after Metro Tacloban, both of them are located on the island of Leyte.
The metropolitan area is composed of 2 cities and 6 municipalities (suburbs) with Ormoc city serving the areas central core. It's built up suburb/urban areas extends to Matalom, Leyte (Brgy Sta Fe Itum) in the south, Capoocan Leyte ( Brgy. Lemon) in the North and Palompon, Leyte (Brgy Lat-osan) in the West along the 3 major highways connecting to and from Metro Manila, Metro Cagayan De Oro, Metro Butuan, Metro Naga, and Metro Davao which can be accessed by ferries.
The metropolis features an array of industries like agriculture, aquaculture, manufacturing, mining, tourism and entertainment. The metropolis also has an abundance of countryside lands for farming and recreation and tourism.
METRO ORMOC AREAS
These areas are part of the metropolitan area of Ormoc due to its socioeconomic ties to the city of Ormoc. THIS is according to the National Economic and Development Authority or NEDA.
ORMOC CITY
Ormoc (IPA: [ʔoɾˈmok]), officially the City of Ormoc (Cebuano: Dakbayan sa Ormoc; Waray: Syudad han Ormoc; Filipino: Lungsod ng Ormoc), is a 1st class independent component city in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 230,998 inhabitants, making it the second most-populous city in the province of Leyte after the provincial capital of Tacloban. METRO ORMOC BUILT UP AREAS
These are the excess or spillover developments or a continuous built up areas that extend well beyond the defined boundaries of the metropolis that are socioeconomically tied to the metropolis. These areas are mostly suburban in nature. In the municipalities of Capoocan and Palompon, only their exurbs are included in the built up areas of the metropolis namely Lemon in Capoocan and Lat-osan in Palompon.

CLIMATE
The area typically has a climate of a tropical rainforest with little to no dry conditions except during El Niño years and rainfall evenly distributed throughout the year.
