INTRODUCTIONS 

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), also known as the coronavirus, or COVID, is a contagious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The first known case was identified in Wuhan, China, in December 2019.[7] The disease has since spread worldwide, leading to an ongoing pandemic.[8]

COVID-19 affects different people in different ways. Most infected people will develop mild to moderate illness and recover without hospitalization.

diarrhoea

loss of taste or smell
a rash on skin, or discolouration of fingers or toes

On the last day of August, the DFA reports a total of 193 new COVID-19 cases, 120 new recoveries, and 2 new fatalities among Filipinos abroad over the previous week.

Compared to last week’s figures, the total number of COVID-19 fatalities, recoveries, and those under treatment saw a slight increase of 0.15%, 0.94%, and 0.83% respectively. The Americas is the only region that did not record new cases the past week.

The DFA continues to monitor the situation of overseas Filipinos and remains steadfast in promoting and protecting their welfare.

217 NEW COVID-19 CASES and 102 NEW RECOVERIES RECORDED TODAY.

As of 11:00AM today, September 01, 2021, the Department of Health - Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 41,256 with total recoveries at 39,265 (95.17%) and total deaths at 456 (1.11%). This brings the total active cases to 1,533 (3.72%).

A total of 217 new cases were recorded today out of 914 laboratory samples tested in the three (3) COVID-19 Laboratories of the Region – Eastern Visayas Regional COVID-19 Testing Center (EVRCTC), Divine Word Hospital Virology Laboratory (DWHVL) and Ormoc Molecular Diagnostics Center (OMDC). This represents a 24% positivity rate.

EVRCTC has released a total of 627 laboratory test results. Of these, 492 are negative and 135 are positive (with 131 new cases, 2 repeat swab tests and 2 APOR [Authorized Person Outside Residence] for COVID-19.

While DWHVL has released a total of 136 laboratory test results wherein 100 are negative and 36 turned out positive (with 27 new cases, 8 repeat swab tests and one (1) case of reinfection) for COVID-19.

On the other hand, OMDC has released a total of 153 laboratory test results. 91 of the samples are negative while 62 are positive (with 59 new cases and 3 repeat swab tests) for COVID-19.

As of 9:00AM today, September 02, 2021, the Department of Health - Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 41,572 with total recoveries at 39,516 (95.05%) and total deaths at 459 (1.10%). This brings the total active cases to 1,597 (3.84%).

A total of 319 new cases were recorded today out of 1,359 laboratory samples tested in the three (3) COVID-19 Laboratories of the Region – Eastern Visayas Regional COVID-19 Testing Center (EVRCTC), Divine Word Hospital Virology Laboratory (DWHVL) and Ormoc Molecular Diagnostics Center (OMDC). This represents a 23% positivity rate.

EVRCTC has released a total of 1,056 laboratory test results. Of these, 816 are negative and 240 are positive (with 237 new cases and 3 repeat swab tests) for COVID-19.

While DWHVL has released a total of 233 laboratory test results wherein 158 are negative and 57 turned out positive (with 55 new cases and 2 APOR [Authorized Person Outside Residence]) for COVID-19.

On the other hand, OMDC has released a total of 64 laboratory test results. 36 of the samples are negative while 28 are positive (with 27 new cases and 1 repeat swab test) for COVID-19.

As of 9:00AM today, September 03, 2021, the Department of Health - Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 41,858 with total recoveries at 39,746 (94.95%) and total deaths at 462 (1.10%). This brings the total active cases to 1,650 (3.94%).

A total of 287 new cases were recorded today out of 1,358 laboratory samples. 1,223 samples were tested in the three (3) COVID-19 Laboratories of the Region – Eastern Visayas Regional COVID-19 Testing Center (EVRCTC), Divine Word Hospital Virology Laboratory (DWHVL) and Ormoc Molecular Diagnostics Center (OMDC) while 135 samples were submitted to Philippine Red Cross Molecular Laboratory. This represents a 21% positivity rate.

EVRCTC has released a total of 862 laboratory test results. Of these, 692 are negative and 170 are positive (with 168 new cases and 2 repeat swab tests) for COVID-19.

DWHVL has released a total of 255 laboratory test results wherein 162 are negative and 93 turned out positive (with 82 new cases and 11 repeat swab tests) for COVID-19.

While OMDC has released a total of 106 laboratory test results. 72 of the samples are negative while 34 are positive (with 29 new cases and 5 repeat swab tests) for COVID-19.

As of 9:00AM today, September 04, 2021, the Department of Health - Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 42,072 with total recoveries at 39,992 (94.89%) and total deaths at 466 (1.11%). This brings the total active cases to 1,684 (4.0%).

A total of 215 new cases were recorded today out of 950 laboratory samples. 902 samples were tested in three (3) COVID-19 Laboratories of the Region – Eastern Visayas Regional COVID-19 Testing Center (EVRCTC), Divine Word Hospital Virology Laboratory (DWHVL) and Ormoc Molecular Diagnostics Center (OMDC) while 48 samples were submitted to Philippine Red Cross Molecular Laboratory (prcml). This represents a 23% positivity rate.

EVRCTC has released a total of 607 laboratory test results. Of these, 481 are negative and 126 are positive (with 125 new cases and one (1) repeat swab test) for COVID-19.

DWHVL has released a total of 261 laboratory test results wherein 179 are negative and 82 turned out positive (with 62 new cases and 20 repeat swab tests) for COVID-19.

While OMDC has released a total of 34 laboratory test results. 9 of the samples are negative while 25 are positive for COVID-19.

On the other hand, PRCML has released a total of 48 laboratory test results. Of these, 45 are negative and 3 are positive for COVID-19

As of 9:00AM today, September 05, 2021, the Department of Health - Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 42,467 with total recoveries at 40,216 (94.70%) and total deaths at 467 (1.10%). This brings the total active cases to 1,785 (4.20%).

A total of 396 new cases were recorded today out of 1,486 laboratory samples. 1,301 samples were tested in three (3) COVID-19 Laboratories of the Region – Eastern Visayas Regional COVID-19 Testing Center (EVRCTC), Divine Word Hospital Virology Laboratory (DWHVL) and Ormoc Molecular Diagnostics Center (OMDC) while 185 samples were submitted to Philippine Red Cross Molecular Laboratory (PRCML). This represents a 27% positivity rate.

EVRCTC has released a total of 1,014 laboratory test results. Of these, 717 are negative, one (1) invalid test and 296 are positive (with 293 new cases, 2 repeat swab test anad one (1) case of reinfection) for COVID-19.

DWHVL has released a total of 258 laboratory test results wherein 178 are negative and 80 turned out positive (with 68 new cases and 12 repeat swab tests) for COVID-19.

While OMDC has released a total of 29 laboratory test results. 6 of the samples are negative while 23 are positive (with 22 new cases and one (1) repeat swab test) for COVID-19.

On the other hand, PRCML has released a total of 185 laboratory test results. Of these, 172 are negative and 13 are positive for COVID-19

The DFA reports a total of 130 new COVID-19 cases, 287 new recoveries, and 7 new fatalities among Filipinos abroad over the previous week. 

Compared to last week’s figures, the total number of recoveries increased by 2.22%. Europe was the only region that did not record new cases this past week. 

There are now 103 countries and territories with confirmed cases of COVID-19 among Filipinos abroad, following reports from the Middle East and Asia and the Pacific.

The DFA, together with its Foreign Service Posts, continues to monitor and assist our nationals abroad amidst the pandemic.

The DFA reports a total of 79 new COVID-19 cases, 113 new recoveries, and 6 new fatalities among Filipinos abroad over the previous week. 

Compared to last week’s figures, there were more recoveries than confirmed cases reported this week.  Moreover, Europe remains to be the only region without new cases this past week.

The DFA reports a total of 41 new COVID-19 cases, 63 new recoveries, and 3 new fatalities among Filipinos abroad over the previous week. 


No new cases were recorded in Europe and America. There has been a consistent increase in the number of recoveries compared to new cases in the last three weeks.

As of 9:00AM today, September 20, 2021, the Department of Health - Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 46,031 with total recoveries at 43,239 (93.93%) and total deaths at 485 (1.05%). This brings the total active cases to 2,307 (5.01%).


A total of 124 new cases were recorded today out of 643 laboratory samples tested in two (2) COVID-19 Laboratories of the Region – Eastern Visayas Regional COVID-19 Testing Center (EVRCTC) and Divine Word Hospital Virology Laboratory (DWHVL)). This represents a 19% positivity rate.


EVRCTC has released a total of 428 laboratory test results. Of these, 342 are negative and 86 turned out positive (with 83 new cases and 3 repeat swab tests) for COVID-19.


While DWHVL has released a total of 215 laboratory test results. Of these, 166 are negative and 49 turned out positive (with 48 new cases and one (1) repeat swab test) for COVID-19.

As of 9:30AM today, September 21, 2021, the Department of Health - Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 46,126 with total recoveries at 43,375 (94.04%) and total deaths at 485 (1.05%). This brings the total active cases to 2,266 (4.91%).


A total of 85 new cases were recorded today out of 424 laboratory samples tested in three (3) COVID-19 Laboratories of the Region – Eastern Visayas Regional COVID-19 Testing Center (EVRCTC), Divine Word Hospital Virology Laboratory (DWHVL)) and Ormoc Molecular Diagnostic Center (OMDC). This represents a 20% positivity rate.


EVRCTC has released a total of 277 laboratory test results. Of these, 233 are negative and 44 turned out positive for COVID-19.

As of 10:30AM today, September 22, 2021, the Department of Health - Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 46,332 with total recoveries at 43,559 (94.01%) and total deaths at 485 (1.05%). This brings the total active cases to 2,288 (4.94%).


A total of 206 new cases were recorded today out of 1,246 laboratory samples.1,217 samples were tested in three (3) COVID-19 Laboratories of the Region – Eastern Visayas Regional COVID-19 Testing Center (EVRCTC), Divine Word Hospital Virology Laboratory (DWHVL) and Ormoc Molecular Diagnostic Center (OMDC) while 29 samples were submitted to Philippine Red Cross Molecular Laboratory (PRCML). A total of 301 new cases were recorded today out of 1,404 laboratory samples. 1,230 samples were tested in three (3) COVID-19 Laboratories of the Region – Eastern Visayas Regional COVID-19 Testing Center (EVRCTC), Divine Word Hospital Virology Laboratory (DWHVL) and Ormoc Molecular Diagnostic Center (OMDC) while 174 samples were submitted to Philippine Red Cross Molecular Laboratory (PRCML).This represents a 21% positivity rate.

274 MORE COPS RECOVER FROM COVID-19; MIMAROPA OFFICER IS 117TH FATALITY 


A Police Commissioned Officer assigned in the MIMAROPA Region died of medical complications due to COVID-19 infection.

Sa kabuuang bilang ng mga naitalang kaso sa bansa, 7.4% (176,850) ang aktibong kaso, 91.0% (2,171,832) na ang gumaling, at 1.55% (36,934) ang namatay.


Ayon sa pinakahuling ulat, lahat ng mga laboratoryo ay operational noong September 18, 2021 habang mayroong 5 laboratoryo na hindi nakapagsumite ng datos sa COVID-19 Document Repository System (CDRS).
