NEWS UPDATE OVERVIEW

The 2019 Novel Coronavirus Disease has slowed it's spread very slightly due to stricter quarantine measures implemented by the Government. With a spike in new cases of COVID 19 on Christmas Day in Ormoc City and similar areas.

On this Christmas day, the DFA received no new COVID reports among Filipinos abroad.

The DFA personnel in our Foreign Service Posts remain steadfast in partnering with local health authorities and agencies to ensure Filipinos' awareness of and adherence to preventive measures against the COVID-19 pandemic, and commit to tirelessly attending to the needs of our people affected by this pandemic, whenever possible.

UPDATE: As of 6:00PM of December 25, 2020, the PNP Health Service recorded 33 new recoveries today bringing the total number of personnel who recovered from COVID-19 to 8,508
The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the PNP organization is 8,844 with 309 active cases and 27 deaths.

Ngayong 4 PM, Disyembre 25, 2020, ang Department of Health ay nakapagtala ng 1,885 na karagdagang kaso ng COVID-19. Samantala ay mayroon namang naitalang 307 na gumaling at 7 na pumanaw.

Sa kabuuang bilang ng mga naitalang kaso sa bansa, 5.9% (27,748) ang aktibong kaso, 92.1% (430,791) na ang gumaling, at 1.94% (9,062) ang namatay.

COVID-19 ALERT:

106 NEW COVID-19 CASES, 4 DEATHS, AND 153 RECOVERIES RECORDED TODAY
 

As of 9AM today, December 25, 2020, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 10,816, total recoveries at 9,665 (89.36%), and total deaths at 123 (1.14%). This brings the total active cases to 1,028 (9.50%).

A total of 106 new cases were recorded out of 1,011 laboratory samples tested in the three (3) COVID-19 laboratories in the region, the EVRCTC, DWHVL, and the Ormoc Molecular Diagnostic Center.

The EVRCTC has released a total of  648 laboratory results. Of these, 566 are negative and 82 are positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 338 laboratory results. Of these, 320 are negative and 18 are positive for COVID-19.

The Ormoc Molecular Diagnostic Center has released also a total of  25 laboratory results with  6 positives and 19 negatives.

The 106 new confirmed cases are  from the following provinces/cities/municipalities:

Today, the DFA received a lone report from a country in Europe confirming 1 new COVID-19 recovery, no new confirmed case, and no new fatality among our nationals.

Compared to last week’s percentages, the total number of COVID-19 recoveries and fatalities saw a slight increase at 65.03% and 7.10%, respectively. Meanwhile, there was a slight decrease on those under treatment at 27.87%.

UPDATE: As of 6:00PM of December 26, 2020, the PNP Health Service recorded 23 new recoveries today bringing the total number of personnel who recovered from COVID-19 to 8,531
The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the PNP organization is 8,860 with 302 active cases and 27 deaths.

COVID-19 ALERT:

48 NEW COVID-19 CASES, ONE (1) DEATH, AND 88 RECOVERIES RECORDED TODAY
 

As of 9AM today, December 26, 2020, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 10,864, total recoveries at 9,753 (89.77%), and total deaths at 124 (1.14%). This brings the total active cases to 987 (9.09%).

A total of 48 new cases were recorded out of 332 laboratory samples tested in the two (2) COVID-19 laboratories in the region, the EVRCTC and DWHVL.

The EVRCTC has released a total of 202 laboratory results. Of these, 163 are negative and 39 are positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 130 laboratory results. Of these, 120 are negative and 10 are positive for COVID-19 (with 9 new cases and 1 reswab).

The 48 new confirmed cases are from the following provinces/cities/municipalities:

The DFA received no new COVID-19 reports among Filipinos abroad today.

To date, the total number of confirmed cases is at 12,828; total fatalities at 911; total recoveries at 8,342; and total DOH IHR verified cases remains at 3,408.

The DFA remains fully committed to monitoring the situation of overseas Filipinos who are affected by the pandemic and remains steadfast in promoting and protecting their welfare.

13 NEW COVID-19 CASES AND 95 RECOVERIES RECORDED TODAY
 

As of 9AM today, December 27, 2020, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 10,875, total recoveries at 9,848 (90.56%), and total deaths at 124 (1.14%). This brings the total active cases to 903 (8.30%).

A total of 13 new cases were recorded out of 133 laboratory samples tested in the two (2) COVID-19 laboratories in the region, the EVRCTC and DWHVL.

The EVRCTC has released a total of 11 laboratory results. Of these, 7 are negative, 1 is invalid and 3 are positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 122 laboratory results. Of these, 111 are negative and 11 are positive for COVID-19 (with 10 new cases and 1 reswab).

The 13 new confirmed cases are from the following provinces/cities/municipalities:
