As of 4PM today, October 8, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 331,869, after 2,363 newly-confirmed cases were added to the list of COVID-19 patients.
DOH likewise announces 697 recoveries. This brings the total number of recoveries to 274,318.
Note: Of the 2,363 reported cases today, 1,869 (79%) occurred within the recent 14 days (September 25 - October 8, 2020). The top regions with cases in the recent two weeks were NCR (734 or 39%), Region 4A (419 or 22%) and Region 3 (159 or 9%).

Of the 144 deaths, 47 occurred in October (33%), 26 in September (18%) 46 in August (32%) and 25 in July (17%). Deaths were from NCR (96 or 67%), Region 4A (14 or 10%), Region 7 (8 or 6%), Region 3 (7 or 5%), Region 6 (6 or 4%), CARAGA (6 or 4%), Region 11 (2 or 1%), Region 1 (1 or 1%), Region 8 (1 or 1%), Region 10 (1 or 1%), Region 12 (1 or 1%), and BARMM (1 or 1%).

131 duplicates were removed from the total case count. Of these, 54 were recovered cases.

Moreover, 48 cases previously tagged as recovered were reclassified as deaths after final validation.

20 labs were not able to submit their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System (CDRS) on October 7, 2020.

These numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation.
