DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH EASTERN VISAYAS COVID 19 UPDATE 11/19/20

JUST IN:

44 NEW COVID-19 CASES, ONE (1) DEATH AND 110 RECOVERIES RECORDED, THURSDAY
 
As of 7PM on Thursday, November 19, 2020, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the region’s total number of COVID-19 cases at 8,133, total recoveries at 7,406 (91.06%), and total deaths at 79 (0.97%). This brings the total active cases to 648 (7.97%).

A total of 44 new cases were recorded out of 743 laboratory samples tested in two (2) COVID-19 laboratories in the region, the EVRCTC and DWHVL.

The EVRCTC has released a total of 532 laboratory results. Of these, 501 are negative and 31 are positive for COVID-19.

Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 211 laboratory results. Of these, 190 are negative and 21 are positive for COVID-19 (with 13 new cases anf 8 reswabs).

The 44 new cases are  from the following provinces/cities/municipalities:

   Calbiga - 5 (4 Close Contacts, 1 Frontliner)
   Catbalogan - 1 (Frontliner)
   Gandara - 6 (5 Close Contacts, 1 no detail)
   Pagsangahan - 4 (Close Contacts)
   Tarangnan - 1 (Close Contact)

EASTERN SAMAR (3)
   Balangiga - 1 (HCW)
   General Macarthur - 1 (Close Contact)
   Giporlos - 1

NORTHERN SAMAR (1)
   San Jose - 1

On the other hand, the new COVID-19 death recorded today is EV-7566, an 82-year-old, male, from Catarman, Northern Samar who died on November 17, 2020.

Other details will be provided by the concerned LGU.
