96 NEW COVID-19 CASES AND 52 RECOVERIES RECORDED OM THURSDAY

 

As of 7PM on Thursday, October 22, 2020, the Department of Health- Eastern Visayas reports the region's total number of COVID-19 cases at 6,151, total recoveries at 5,216 (84.80%), total COVID-19 deaths at 58 (0.94%), and one (1) non-COVID related death. This brings the total active cases to 876 (14.24%).

A total of 96 new cases were recorded out of 1,198 laboratory samples tested in two (2) COVID-19 laboratories in the region, the EVRCTC and DWHVL.

The EVRCTC has released a total of 870 laboratory results. Of these, 791 are negative and 79 are positive for COVID-19 (with 77 new cases and 2 reswabs).

Meanwhile, the DWHVL has released a total of 328 laboratory results. Of these, 283 are negative and are 45 positive for COVID-19 (with 19 new cases and 26 reswabs).

The 96 new cases are  from the following provinces/cities/municipalities:

On the other hand, two (2) cases previously tagged as new cases from Hilongos, Leyte were reclassified as reswabs upon verification. Hence, the adjustment of our total case count.
