MAGNITUDE 6.8 EARTHQUAKE ROCKS JAPAN!
BREAKING: A powerful magnitude-6.8 earthquake occurred at about 10:22 p.m. Tuesday with a focus off Yamagata Prefecture.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, an upper 6 on the Japanese seismic intensity scale of 7 was felt in Murakami, Niigata Prefecture.
A lower 6 was recorded in Tsuruoka, Yamagata Prefecture.
A tsunami advisory has been issued.
