Child Went Viral After Selling Vegetables To Buy A Gadget For Online Class

Calbayog City, Samar - A child that sold vegetables to buy a smartphone to be used for online classes, went viral on social media.

One kid sells vegetables in Calbayog City to buy a smartphone that she will use in an online class during the opening of class on August 24.

Anrol Orecul who works at a mall in Calbayog noticed this child while posting on Facebook.

"It's like a kid selling vegetables to buy a cellphone in what seems to be an online class. I know how much you worked, how much would it cost for 40 pesos to come back if he could buy it?" - FB post by Anrol Orecul

In this post, it softened the heart of a netizen named Jay-r Cano, 29.

Today, June 24th, Cano finds Anrol's FB post in a hurry to go to the mall to find the child.

"I went there. I asked her, then she honestly told me that she wanted to buy a cellphone for her online class (And memories came back when I was in elementary then I was amazed for the reason that she was studying, mixed emotions somehow) "- declares Cano.

According to Cano, when he was young, their lives were still praiseworthy as they were related to the child's situation.

"Honestly when we are talking I have only 500 pesos in my wallet because I just want to buy his item worth 500 pesos."

"I didn't think I would be able to spend that much because I just started my business this January 2020 and it's still covid, so I'm one of the affected ones."

"Her purpose really touched me, and I'm not teaching her to be materialistic. But again the purpose was for her education."

"So I said to the child here (I was watching over the sales lady of the cp store). I went to PNB to withdraw then I bought her the new cellphone"

Cano still kept his contact number on the kid's new cellphone to see if she still needed something to text or call him.

Ormoc Sends 11 Heath Workers to Virus-Hit Cebu City.

Ormoc City Leyte - The City Government of Ormoc has sent out 11 of their health personnel to help the CoronaVirus stricken city to help cope up with the health crisis ongoing in the city.

These workers came from Ormoc Doctor's Hospital, a part of the Cebu Doc Group. In a Facebook post the netizen said that:

Baybay City Recorded 10 New Recoveries On Thursday

Baybay City - 10 positive CoViD-18 patients who recovered from the disease were sent off to go home to their families on Thursday, June 25, 2020 after a 14-day Mandatory Quarantine at the Ligtas CoViD-19 Isolation Center in Baybay City in  the Province of Leyte. 

The Baybay Emergency Rescue Unit (BERU) fetched them from the isolation facility to their respective residency for the 14-day home quarantine required by the LGU and the Inter Agency Task Force.

But those heart touching moments was felt by the frontliners who were on duty from the messages left by the patients. Its a very nice "pat-on-the-back" for the sacrifices they had made for the safety for not just for those patients who testes positive for CoronaVirus but also to their families and the whole Baybay city.

And to those who helped for the success of the Ligtas CoViD-19 Isolation facility for Baybay city, thank you so much for the love, Baybay city Sangguniang Panlungsod staff added.

As of June 25, 2020, Baybay city has a total of 14 recoveries, 17 active cases and 0 reported casualties related to CoViD-19.

CAAP: List Of Airports To Operate For June 25.

Manila, Philippines - The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines has released the list of airports with clearance grom their respective Local Government Units to resume commercial flights as of 25 June 2020.

As of today, 25 June, there are 27 airports in the country whose Local Government Units (LGUs) have issued orders categorically supporting the resumption* of commercial airport operations in their areas of jurisdiction, CAAP said.

Meanwhile, 6 airports are set to start accepting commercial flights on later dates, it added.

Some airports, while allowing the resumption of commercial flights, are subject to different documentary and passenger LGU restrictions, CAAP advised.

PH Records 778 CoronaVirus infections; Totals now at 33,069

COVID-19 REPORT

Manila, Philippines - The Department of Health reported on Thursday that they have recorded 778, new infections of the Nove CoronaVirus Disease 2019. As of 4PM today, June 25, 2020, the Department of Health reports the total number of COVID-19 cases at 33,069, the health department said.

In addition to the 415 fresh cases, 363 late cases were also reported today. Today's fresh cases are based on the daily accomplishment reports submitted by only 50 out of 59 current operational labs, DOH added.

The agency also recorded about 255 recoveries This brings the total number of recoveries to 8,910.

Of the 8 reported deaths, all occurred in June (June 01-21, 2020). Four duplicates were also removed from total case count. The total cases reported may be subject to change as these numbers undergo constant cleaning and validation, DOH confirmed on Thursday, June 25, 2020.

POSITIVE CASES BREAKDOWN

The number of positive cases are divided in to categories are as follows:

Asymptomatic:

752 people or abour 3.4%

Mild Symptoms:

21,543 people or about 96.0%

Severe Symptoms:

117 people or about 0.5%

Critical Condition:

24 people or about 0.1q

The total number of beds inside hospitals are divided into subcategories as such:

Ward Beds:

3,156 and 38.43% have been occupied.

Isolation Beds:

9,240 and 35.14% have been occupied

Intensive Care Unit Beds:

1,314 and 36.00% have been occupied

Beds With Ventilators:

1,996 and 20.34% have been occupied

13,563

TESTING FACILITIES FOR COVID-19

The number of testing laboratories across the country are at 59 with 50 out of 59 are in operational.

163 - Total Number of Laboratory Applications

147 - Number of Laboratories at Stage 3 or Higher

90% - Percentage of Laboratories at Stage 3 and Higher

TEMPORARY TREATMENT AND MONITORING FACILITIES

There are about 52,938 total beds inside Ligtas CoViD Facilities and there are about 3,193 inside MEGA Ligtas CoViD Facilities.

The Department of Health said that they will continue to update on the current situation of the CoronaVirus pandemic in the Philippines.

DFA reports 10 new CoViD-19 infections; Total now at 8,361

Manila, Philippines -  The Department of Foreign Affairs said on Thursday that they have reported at least 10 new CoronaVirus infections in Asia Pacific, Middle East and in Europe, adding to the total number of infections among Filipino people and now at 8,361. They have also reported 4 new recoveries adding to a grand total of recoveries at 5,076. 1 new death have been reported and this adds to the total number of deaths at 513.

To date, the total number of Filipinos abroad who are under treatment and those who have recovered comprise 33% and 60% of the total confirmed cases, respectively. While total deaths remain less than 10%, DFA Said.
